Residents of Boerne reported a mean travel time to work of 25.3 minutes, lower than both the Kendall County figure of 28.6 minutes and the Texas statewide figure of 26.7 minutes. Of the three figures shown, Kendall County sits highest and Boerne sits lowest, with Texas in between.

The gap between Boerne and Kendall County is notable given that Boerne is the county seat.

For a city that functions in part as a San Antonio suburb, a 25.3-minute mean is consistent with the commuter geography. The interstate corridor puts downtown San Antonio within reach, and a meaningful share of the workforce commutes that direction on any given workday. The number doesn’t sort out how many of those workers are heading toward San Antonio versus local employers.

The county figure at 28.6 minutes is the highest value in the data, and the state figure at 26.7 minutes falls closer to the middle of the range than to either end.

These are 2020–2024 ACS 5-year estimates. Each figure carries a margin of error; the ladder above marks each ±MOE.
